We walked into a local large Wine, Spirit and Beverage store; we have a few different ones around town. The one we happened into on this day was called Friar Tuck Beverage, it’s about the size of a normal grocery store, only all mixers and alcohol. There’s just about anything your little heart could possibly desire in there.

On this day, I was just looking for something orange that I could make for Halloween. A drink that did not need food coloring. And this is what I found, Aperol. I had never heard of it before, and began to read the bottle.

It said, “Original recipe from 1919 based on an infusion of herbs and roots. A product of Italy” Well, that must be good. If it’s been around that long, how did I never hear of this? And how funny is it, that in this day and age, we’re all trying to get back to natural ingredients, and they’ve been doing it all along.

I wanted to make this drink a little fancy, but you can enjoy without all the sparkle if you’d prefer less sweetness. This Hocus Pocus Aperol Fizz makes a great drink for your Halloween party, or when the kids finally go to bed after trick or treating.
